At Aurora Independent Living, we believe in providing superior support services and nursing care that meet the individual needs of our participants. In addition to these important offerings, overnight care is an essential service for those who require comfort or assistance throughout the night. We recognize how beneficial this can be not only for our valued guests but also their primary caregivers and families.
Active support
Providing active support at night requires a dedicated individual who is prepared to stay awake and alert during the entire shift. No matter what time of day it is, you can rest assured knowing that somebody is there to help during your hour of need.
Such tasks may include:
- Administering medication
- Managing participant comfortability
(incl. turning and repositioning)
- Assisting participants who are on ventilators and require suctioning
- Assistance with personal care
(incl. continence management and toileting)
Non-active Support
On non-active support shifts, compassionate professionals provide overnight care and are available to offer assistance when needed or upon request. Support workers may also help with occasional toileting or repositioning needs as part of their duties.
